What is the Journey AI MCP server?

It is Journey Foods' Model Context Protocol server. It lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Perplexity search and compare food and CPG suppliers, look up ingredients, and read commodity prices and Journey Labs results. Every tool is read-only.

Add a custom MCP connector with the URL https://mcp.journeyfoods.io/mcp and send your Journey API key in the x-api-key header. A local option, npx -y @journeyfoods/mcp, is coming soon, because the npm package is not published yet. OAuth sign-in is coming.

Where do I get an API key?

Get a free key at price.journeyfoods.io. Developer API keys are at dev.journeyfoods.io.

Can the AI change my Journey data?

No. Every tool is read-only, and Journey AI never creates, changes or deletes anything.

Which AI clients does it work with?

Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP or stdio, including Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Perplexity, Windsurf, Cline and Zed. ChatGPT support needs OAuth sign-in, which is coming soon.

Journey AI MCP server

Journey AI connects AI assistants and agents to Journey's food and CPG supplier, ingredient, product, price and Journey Labs data. Read-only.

Search and compare suppliers, look up ingredient nutrition and sustainability scores, and read commodity reference prices with history and forecasts. Signed-in Journey customers can read their own product formulations. Every tool is read-only.

How to connect

The remote server is https://mcp.journeyfoods.io/mcp. It speaks Streamable HTTP. Send your key in the x-api-key header. OAuth sign-in is coming.

Get a free key at price.journeyfoods.io. Developer API keys for ingredient data are at dev.journeyfoods.io.
Add the remote server in your client and paste the key into the x-api-key header. The snippets below use YOUR_JOURNEY_API_KEY as a placeholder. Replace it. Do not commit a real key.
A local option, npx -y @journeyfoods/mcp, is coming soon. The npm package is not published yet, so use the remote server until it is.
